"Woah."

submission: Piano11
date: September 4, 2009

This sounds like one of those melodies that takes at least 3 weeks to compose. 3 days to make this? Holy crap, you are good. This is just... epic. I love the way you add the bass chords at exactly the right time - most other melodies I've heard have them jamming all the time (ow, my ears -_-). There's nothing I can actually think of to improve this... just too good T.T

Runaway (Cover)

"Totally changed"

submission: Runaway (Cover)
date: September 4, 2009

This sounds totally changed compared to the original runaway. I still can't hear how you changed it; it sounds like a totally new song. What did you add anyways?
5/5!

Author's Response:

Well, firstly, the beginning tune was replaced with a saw-sine synth, instead of the original. Secondly, the lead is a saw wave placed at one octave above the original. Next, I put a 'fruity fast distortion' on the kick to give it more umph. Another thing is I replaced the piano in the breakdown with a a little 'bing' from a sine wave. Lastly, this one isn't TOTALLY OMG AWESOME like the original.

Drum &... Piano? I don't know.

"Interesting..."

date: September 4, 2009

Trance techno? :P

Near the beginning (before 0:10) it sounds like your bass is different from the other chords... It sounds sorta awkward -_- Were they actually chords? :P (good intro though). Also, after the third chord, you have some sort of weird note (much shorter than the other chords) and then the fourth chord - and after the fourth chord, that same note, but of a different length. This makes it sound... sorta strange. Maybe you could kill off the shorter note/use a different note for that?

I don't really like the part 0:25 - 0:30; it sounds like it's the end of the piece. Maybe make there be some other way to add another progression besides making it sound quieter [maybe add a new instrument (How did you make this anyways? Played it and then record, or some sort of program? If you did use a program, which did you use?)]?

Something sounded strange in the part after 0:30 - the 3 notes leading to a chord or something fancy like that. Maybe check it? Also, maybe you repeated those too much; add in a second theme?

Generally not too good, but not too bad either. Definitely need some improvement, but better than 5/6th of the population here :P

Author's Response:

Yes, before 0:10, it was major pentonic.

'better than 5/6th of the population here' thanks...!

What, God? (finished)

"Great game music"

date: September 4, 2009

The beginning up to about 0:18 sounds like an awesome zombieish theme, and then the sudden contrast up until 0:45 completely changes the theme... I thought that the theme was the section from 0:00 to 0:18, until I realized that was the intro and conclusion -_-

I couldn't really make out the words though either...

Anyways, it sounds awesome to put in a game, but not that much for other types of things... a bit too repetitive without any definitive melody...

So, it's basically an awesome game theme (especially zombie shooters) but not that outstanding otherwise. Maybe add more theme to your next one?

PS BTW I don't know anything about what you were intending to make, so I can't write an accurate review -_-

September 4, 2009

Author's Response:

The Intro started it all... I didn't really want a slow, almost gothic, song. I wanted it 2 be almost danceable, so i up'd the tempo/time.

There is another version of this song (unposted) That works, strictly with the Melody, insted of the vocal clips, and It's edited by the ZGS himself. (dont let the crap he posts here confuse you, he is honestly BRILLIANT!) You may like it better! ;)
I'll try and talk him into posting it. If he does, I'll PM you a link :P

THANK YOU!

Mission Impossible?

"O.o"

date: December 17, 2008

Did you make the song or copy it? If you copied, it, you picked a good choice, however if you made it you are GENIUS. It sounds so impossible and it also sounds like daredevil stunts XD Great Song!

December 19, 2008

Author's Response:

not sure what you mean by that...? This song is basically a redo of Mission Impossible with a technotic feel to it and a little mix of orchestration. So if you mean copy, that this song already existed and this is remastering then yes, if you mean by copy that I stole this and didn't really do the work then no.

I loved how you used swing eights, as well as the extraordinary beat and techno style. This style is very innovative, and I am looking forward to more songs like this!

Secret of Mana - Not The End

"Loved it!"

date: December 17, 2008

Wow... I loved how you mixed in fast and slow beats, and it really made it have a techno feel! I have never played the Secret of Mana before, yet this piece makes me somehow able to imagine what the game must have been like!

The Launch

"Apprehensive..."

submission: The Launch
date: December 14, 2008

Makes me feel very scared, and anxious of whats going to happen next... 1:22 is like the turning point... 1:38 makes it feel like an adventure song XD, and 1:50 is REALLY SCARY... not the part is scary but it makes me scared of what happens next. 2:07 is getting scarier... Did you mean to make 2:21 like the climax?
I loved it... this is excellent...

December 19, 2008

Author's Response:

Absolutely. You have nailed it perfectly.

1:22 Dead on is a change. I had this image of the Astronaughts walking into the ship for take off. Then Them getting ready, at 1:50 they are sitting in their chairs, ready for lift off. The count down sounds. Then 2:20 lift off! 3:05 is like a cut shot to someone who is standing watch it lift off. Maybe never seeing their loved one ever again...

So absolutely, I thank you so much for your review! :D

The Pine Dexterity Attack

"Respect."

date: December 12, 2008

There is no way to better describe this song than 3 words - Pine Dexterity Attack... It sounds just like it (even though I do not know what Pine Dexterity Attack sounds like and I don't think anyone else knows). The nice beats and classical music into drums is excellent... it sounds quite sad and like an adventure... to be honest, it sounds like those chinese war people...
